🦒 Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village
Overview
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village is part of Disney’s Vacation Club (DVC) and one of the most unique resorts at Walt Disney World. “Kidani” means necklace in Swahili, and the building’s graceful, curved design was inspired by that meaning—complementing its sister lodge, Jambo House. Guests are immersed in African-inspired architecture, décor, and a museum-quality art collection that spans both Kidani and Jambo, featuring everything from tribal masks to contemporary works.
What sets Kidani apart is the ability to wake up and step onto your balcony to find giraffes, zebras, and more roaming freely across the savanna. It’s peaceful, breathtaking, and unlike any other Disney resort.

🌿 Why We Love It
- Savanna Views: Watch giraffes, zebras, kudu, and gazelles right from your balcony.
- Relaxing Ambience: Dark wood interiors and earthy campfire-like fragrances make the whole resort feel grounding and calm.
- Cultural Touches: African art, live cultural programs, and hands-on bead activities connect guests to authentic traditions.
- Fun for All Ages: From Uwanja Camp’s splashy play zones to guided safaris at night, every generation has something to enjoy.
- Unforgettable Dining: Sanaa is one of our absolute favorite restaurants on property—the bread service alone is worth the trip.

🛏️ Villas & Rooms
Kidani Village offers everything from cozy studios to expansive multi-bedroom villas, giving families plenty of space to spread out:
- Deluxe Studios – Sleep up to 4 adults. Each includes a queen bed, sleeper sofa, and a pull-down bed. Studios feature a kitchenette for preparing light meals and snacks. Deluxe Studios are slightly larger than regular Studios.
- 1-Bedroom Villas – Sleep up to 5 adults. These feature a fully-equipped kitchen, spacious living and dining areas, a separate bedroom for added privacy, and a washer and dryer so you can pack lighter.
- 2-Bedroom Villas – Sleep up to 9 adults. Perfect for larger families or groups, with multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, and plenty of living space.
- 3-Bedroom Grand Villas – Sleep up to 12 adults. These offer expansive layouts with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, ideal for extended family vacations.
- Rooms and Suites – Sleep up to 4 adults (limited at Kidani).
✨ Why it matters: Villas with full kitchens, laundry, and dining areas make longer trips more comfortable, while Studios with kitchenettes are perfect for couples or smaller families who want convenience without extra space.
Whether you’re sipping morning coffee while zebras graze or winding down after the parks, the Savannah View rooms create a retreat that feels worlds away.

🌍 Savannas & Wildlife
Kidani Village is part of a 46-acre savanna system that includes Arusha, Uzima, Sunset, and Pembe savannas. Over 30 species live here, from giraffes and zebras to gazelles, and kudu. Wildlife is visible from many guest balconies, resort overlooks, and dining locations like Sanaa.
Disney’s conservation and species-survival programs support the animals you see—so your stay contributes to their ongoing care.

🏊 Pools & Recreation
- Samawati Springs Pool – A large pool with a waterslide and two whirlpool spas.
- Uwanja Camp – A themed water-play area inspired by African water conservation, complete with rope bridges, water cannons, and squirting Venus flytraps.
- Maji Pool Bar – Perfect for poolside sandwiches, salads, cocktails, and cold beer.
- Splash & Play – Between the waterslide, splash pad, and lounging areas, the whole family has space to cool off.

🍽️ Dining at Kidani Village
- Sanaa – Indian-African fusion cuisine, famous for its bread service with dipping sauces. Our tip: schedule your meal during daylight so you can watch animals graze outside while you eat.
- Maji Pool Bar – Casual poolside dining with surprisingly hearty options, great for a pool-day lunch.
🛍️ Shopping
- Johari Treasures – A charming shop exclusive to Kidani Village with African-inspired crafts, wines, mugs, hats, resort-branded merchandise, and convenience groceries.

🌟 Our Personal Take
We loved Animal Kingdom Lodge so much that we bought our second Disney Vacation Club contract here. Staying at Kidani feels like home—the earthy scents, calming décor, and chance to watch wildlife while drinking morning coffee are unmatched. The activities keep Aiden entertained, the pool is a blast, and Sanaa has become a “must-do”. For us, Kidani is more than a resort—it’s a retreat that feels magical every single time.
