📖 A Bit of Disney History
Frozen Ever After opened in June 2016, taking over the old Maelstrom ride space. While the track layout remains, everything else was transformed into a Frozen wonderland, complete with advanced projection-mapped faces and gorgeous set design. Some purists miss Maelstrom (and its trolls), but even skeptics have been wowed by the upgrade.
If you look closely in the queue, there are still a few nods to Norway’s culture and the original ride—including a cute bookshop with Arendelle touches and a few subtle Viking relics.

- Mid-day waits can stretch past an hour, so aim for rope drop or just before park close

🧊 Our Personal Take
This is one of those rides we never skip—especially in the heat. It’s refreshing, relaxing, and genuinely magical. The animatronics are gorgeous (Olaf is especially adorable), and the little drop always makes us laugh. It’s also one of the few rides where we’re all smiling the whole time—even on repeat visits.
One time, we caught the perfect moment when Elsa hits the high note in “Let It Go” and the ice palace lit up just right—it gave me goosebumps!
