If you’re looking for spooky fun without the fright, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom is a must-do event! On select nights from August through Halloween, the park transforms into a glowing celebration full of eerie enchantment, playful scares, and just the right amount of spooky for all ages.

👻 What Makes This Party So Magical?
🧛 Character Meet & Greets in Halloween Costumes
From classic favorites like Mickey and Minnie to rarely seen villains and specialty characters like Jack & Sally or the Queen of Hearts—this is your chance to see them in their spooky best.
Pro Tip: During our 2024 visit, we didn’t make it to character meet-and-greets, but there’s always next time! Just remember, the lines can get long, so prioritize your must-sees.
🕺 Dance Parties
Let loose with a ghoulish groove at dance parties throughout the park. Whether it’s the DescenDANCE Party or the Zom-Beatz Bash, there’s always a beat to bounce to.
🎭 Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade
A fan-favorite! Don’t miss the Headless Horseman’s eerie ride down Main Street, the spooky-fun Haunted Mansion segment with the Gravediggers, whose shovel sparks during the parade are a crowd favorite, and floats packed with characters, villains, and Halloween spirit.
Our Experience: The Boo-to-You Parade was hands down one of the best parts of our night—don’t miss the Headless Horseman’s spooky ride!

🧙 Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
The Sanderson Sisters take over the castle stage with a wickedly fun show featuring Disney villains, spooky songs, and spellbinding effects.
Pro Tip: It exceeded my expectations! But be prepared for some rain delays (typical Florida fashion), so stay flexible and enjoy the wait—it’s worth it!
🎢 Halloween-Themed Attractions
Select rides get a festive twist! Space Mountain goes completely dark, Mad Tea Party spins with spooky lights and music, and Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor adds interactive Halloween flair.
Pro Tip: If you’re planning to ride a favorite like Tiana’s Bayou, be prepared for delays or closures—they often have maintenance issues, and the line can back up fast!
🍭 Trick-or-Treat Throughout the Park
Guests of all ages can collect candy at stations throughout Magic Kingdom—no age limit, and yes, you’ll leave with a serious sugar stash!
Our Experience: We hit several trick-or-treat spots throughout the night, but due to crowds, some spots were packed! Try to hit the quieter areas early, like Pirates and Tom’s Sawyers Island.

🍬 Halloween Snacks & Specialty Sips
Enjoy limited-time spooky treats and themed drinks only available during the party. From candy-corn milkshakes to haunted churros, there’s something boo-licious for every craving.
Our Favorite Snack: We loved the Sweet and Spicy Beignets and the Chocolate Caramel Tart from Golden Outpost—totally worth it!

🛍️ Event-Exclusive Merchandise
Halloween party souvenirs and collectibles are available only during MNSSHP. Think spooky themed spirit jerseys, pins, apparel, and home decor!
📸 Halloween-Themed PhotoPass Opportunities
Capture frightfully fun photos with special backdrops, props, and Magic Shots—some featuring ghostly surprises
🎭 Costumes Encouraged!
Unlike regular park days, guests of all ages can dress in costume for this event. It’s one of the best parts—just be sure to follow Disney’s costume guidelines.

👁 Don’t Miss…
- The Haunted Mansion, glowing in eerie lighting and crawling with atmospheric actors like Madame Carlotta and the Butler. Our Experience: The Mansion looked amazing with fog and eerie lights—definitely a must-see, especially with the extra spooky touch for Halloween!
- Stay sharp—you may encounter the Cadaver Dans sometimes appearing near Country Bear Jamboree with a possible special surprise appearance by the Hitchhiking Ghosts. Our Experience: We caught the Cadaver Dans and even saw the Hitchhiking Ghosts make an unexpected appearance—such a treat!
- The park takes on a whole new vibe after dark—mysterious, exciting, and full of magical surprises around every corner.

🎃 Helpful Tips for Planning Your Night
🌡️ Weather Watch
August and September party dates tend to have lighter crowds, but they also bring intense heat, high humidity, and frequent afternoon thunderstorms. This time of year also falls within Florida’s hurricane season, which means party nights can occasionally be rescheduled or canceled due to weather. Be prepared, bring ponchos, and stay flexible with your plans!
Pro Tip: In 2024, it rained during the Hocus Pocus show, but thankfully, it didn’t last long. Stay prepared and be flexible with your plans—Disney magic waits for no one!
🍂 Cooler in October
Mid to late October dates are typically cooler and more comfortable, but crowds may be a bit heavier, especially closer to Halloween. If weather is your priority, this can be a great time to go!

⏰ Early Entry with Party Ticket
Although the party officially kicks off at 7:00 PM, guests with a party ticket can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 PM—even without a regular park ticket for that day!
Pro Tip: Get there early! We arrived before 4 PM as Annual Passholders, and it was a lot less crowded before the party started. You’ll also get a head start on grabbing snacks!
🎟️ Get Wristband Ready:
Once inside, head to a designated check-in area to receive your MNSSHP wristband, party map, and trick-or-treat bag. Cast Members will direct you, or you can look for signs near the front of the park or select locations throughout Magic Kingdom.
Our Experience: The lines for the wristbands and bags can get long at first, but don’t worry—they move quickly. We got ours at Mickey’s Philharmagic without any hassle!
🚶🏻♀️Pace Yourself
When we attended, it was hot and humid—so hydrate and pace yourselves throughout the evening!
Pro Tip: Take time to just soak in the atmosphere. Wander around, enjoy the costumes, and take photos—you don’t have to rush through it all!
👻 Most importantly? Enjoy yourself!!
Whether you’re trick-or-treating through the lands, dancing with villains, or soaking in the Halloween ambiance, MNSSHP is the place to make spooky memories that last a lifetime!
