🏨 Disney’s Pop Century Resort – A Colorful Value Stay
Overview
Disney’s Pop Century Resort is one of Walt Disney World’s most popular Value Resorts, known for its oversized icons, nostalgic theming, and budget-friendly price point. We stayed here recently and got the full experience—Skyliner rides, pool time, and a peek at what it’s really like to stay at Pop.
🎨 First Impressions
Pop Century has an undeniable charm. The 1950s through 1990s theming is bright, playful, and fun. Giant yo-yos, bowling pins, and Rubik’s Cubes make it feel like you’ve stepped into a time capsule.
Aiden immediately said he liked it—though he also pointed out that the rooms are very small. I agree. The vibe is cute and lively, but with three of us (myself, Josh, and Aiden), it felt like tight quarters. I’d personally only stay here with one other person, max, for more than a couple of nights.

🏊 Pools & Recreation
- 3 Main Pools (the Hippy Dippy Pool, Bowling Pool, and Computer Pool) plus a kiddie splash area
- Petals Pool Bar for drinks and snacks
- Arcade with affordable games (Aiden spent a long time here and had a blast)
The pools were a pleasant surprise. Even at peak times, they weren’t as crowded as I expected. Aiden loved swimming—even though there’s no water slide—and when I asked him if he preferred Shades of Green or Pop, he said, “both.”
👉 Tip: Bring your own pool towel if you like bigger ones—Pop’s are on the small side.

🍔 Dining at Everything POP Food Court
Everything POP is the main dining location, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Favorites we tried:
- Porchetta Burger – surprisingly delicious!
- Breakfast Totchos – hearty and filling.
That said, the food court can be busy and loud. During our early dinner, the lines to order and pay were long, and seating filled quickly. We managed to find a quieter spot, but if you’re sensitive to crowds, plan your meals off-peak.
👉 Tip: Eat early (or late) to avoid the dinner rush.

🛍️ Shopping
The Everything POP Shopping & Dining area doubles as the resort gift shop. It was stocked with lots of cute Disney merch, snacks, and resort-themed items.
🚠 Skyliner Access
One of Pop Century’s biggest perks is direct access to the Disney Skyliner gondola system, shared with Art of Animation Resort.
- Opens around 7:20 AM
- Expect long lines first thing in the morning (especially for Hollywood Studios and EPCOT).
- A Cast Member told me the lines usually calm down around 9:30–10:00 AM.
During our stay, the Skyliner went down for unscheduled maintenance for at least two hours, which was frustrating.
🚪 Rooms & Amenities
- Standard Value rooms, small but modern with Murphy bed setups.
- Amenities: shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided—but no lotion (in-room or restrooms).
- Noise levels can be an issue. We heard loud bangs from the room above us.
👉 Tip: Request a top-floor room if you’re a light sleeper.
🚶 Resort Layout
- 50s Building 3, Second Floor was our room location.
- Expect long outdoor walks to reach your room at night. The open hallways add to that “motel-style” feel.
🚬 Downsides We Noticed
- Cigarette smoke around common areas was unpleasant.
- No air conditioning in the elevators.
- Food court noise and crowd levels can feel overwhelming.
🌟 Our Take
Overall, Disney’s Pop Century Resort is a fun, budget-friendly option with bright theming, good pools, and Skyliner convenience. The rooms are very small, so if you’re traveling as a family for a week, be prepared for close quarters. For shorter trips, solo travelers, or parent-child stays, Pop can be a great choice.
Aiden summed it up perfectly—“Don’t worry.” He had fun, and in the end, that’s what matters most.
✅ TL;DR Pop Century Review
- Cute, nostalgic vibe with oversized icons
- Skyliner access to EPCOT & Hollywood Studios
- Pools are fun but no slides
- Rooms are tiny—better for 1–2 people than a family of 3+
- Food court is busy but has solid options (Porchetta Burger & Totchos = 👍)
- Ask for top floor to avoid noise
- Expect long walks, noise, and some smoke
