How Long Does Transportation Take from Shades of Green?
Travel times can vary depending on the time of day, crowd levels, and whether strollers or scooters need to be loaded. However, here’s a general breakdown using both official guidance and real guest feedback. These times are meant to help with planning; nevertheless, actual transit time may be shorter under ideal conditions. My estimates are planning-focused, not precise down-to-the-minute ride times.
🏰 Magic Kingdom (via TTC)
The Shades bus drops off at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), which is practically across the street—a ~5–10 minute ride according to most guests.
From there, you’ll either take the ferry (~15 minutes) or the monorail (~10 minutes ) to the actual park gates. Add extra time for crowds.
Total time from Shades to MK entrance: could take ~35+ minutes on average, including the bus ride, security screening, monorail or ferry travel, and the walk to the front gate. If you’re planning to rope drop, add extra time to account for early morning crowds and longer wait times.
🌐 EPCOT (via monorail from TTC)
Just like with Magic Kingdom, you’ll take the bus to the TTC (about ~5–10 minutes), go through security, then walk about 5 minutes to the EPCOT monorail platform. From there, ~15 minute ride to EPCOT.
Total time: ~35+ minutes depending on monorail timing and crowds.
🐯 Animal Kingdom
The bus runs directly to Animal Kingdom but shares a route with Hollywood Studios. Depending on traffic and loading times, he trip can take a total time of ~15–25 minutes on average.
🎬 Hollywood Studios
Since Hollywood Studios is typically the second stop on the shared route, travel time is a bit longer.
Total time: ~40+ minutes on average.

🕑 Quick Tip: The bus schedule shows departure times, not arrival. Be at the stop at least 10-15 minutes early, especially if you want to rope drop or make a reservation on time.

📿 Planning to rope drop? 📿
The Shades buses start early, making them a perfect option for early park entry.
🛵 If someone in your party uses a scooter or ECV, be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes earlier than your planned departure time. Each bus can typically accommodate only two ECVs at a time, and during busy hours, that space can fill quickly.
While Shades isn’t on the Monorail loop, you’re still well-connected to the magic. The system is easy to navigate, even for first-time guests.
☕ 🚻 🚌 Coffee, Bathrooms, and a Bus Stop—Oh My!
The Express Cafe is right next to the Shades of Green bus area—and so are the restrooms. It’s the holy grail of Disney morning tips: coffee, bathrooms, and even a grab-and-go breakfast sandwich, all just steps from your ride to the parks. No detours, no stress—just caffeine and convenience right where you need it.
